UEnroll

University is difficult for students as is. The course enrollment process should not be another stress to students’ lives. It was not until I was halfway through college where I felt confident in my skills navigating through the enrollment portal - I know I am not alone in this feeling.

During my junior year, I was put on a team to reinvent an existing platform that is not user friendly. In which I suggested redesigning my University’s course enrollment.

By developing user stories, orchestrating interviews, and continuous development, my team and I identified friction points for students. We developed a seamless and innovative platform to combat course research and degree projection.

Research

We interviewed several students of various backgrounds and demographics to get insight of user friction points. The biggest discovery was the use of multiple tabs being open of different windows of the website. The flow of the website was also unintuitive with some participants not knowing how to use features meant to help course selection.

Academic Project: This semester-long UX/UI redesign was completed as part of my coursework at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The project explores potential improvements to the university’s course enrollment experience and is not an official UW–Madison redesign or affiliated with the university.
